what we learned

the old system is understandable now

The villa is wired enough to reuse. The main floor routes exist, so the project is a controlled consolidation, not a blind full rebuild.
The current login problem is scoped. Both real local pages are reachable; four supplied candidates failed, so the provider must return current device-scoped access.
Starlink is a fallback, not yet failover. It keeps the house online today, while the target gateway will make switching automatic.
The cheapest useful next build is floor 0. It improves calls, remote work and desk Ethernet while creating the managed core.

the house starts noticing things

The first AirGradient pilot already proved autonomous onboarding, local API collection and stable one-minute sampling. Its inherited DIY hardware is only a degraded CO₂/PM reference, so one factory-assembled unit is the known-good comparator before room-scale replication.
